About Groundwire
Groundwire is building custom controls and integrations for building management and billing systems, purpose-built for niche verticals — built on the Tuya IoT ecosystem. We connect Tuya-compatible smart devices, meters, and controllers into intelligent, billable, manageable systems for property owners, operators, and utilities.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re hiring across a range of skill levels and specialties — from hands-on hardware engineers to software architects. Roles include:
- Integration Programmers — build against the Tuya IoT Platform (Cloud Development / Tuya API), connect devices to our software, build data pipelines and automations
- Tuya/IoT Controller Developers — configure, flash, and troubleshoot Tuya-based Wi-Fi/Zigbee/BLE modules, smart meters, relays, and sensors; work with Tuya’s device SDKs (IoT Device SDK, Tuya Cloud SDK) and Tuya Smart Life / IoT App integrations
- Researchers — investigate metering standards, billing regulations, Tuya ecosystem updates, and emerging smart-device hardware for niche BMS applications
- Builders / Hardware Engineers — prototype and deploy Tuya-compatible control and metering hardware in real buildings
- Backend/Platform Developers — build systems around the Tuya Cloud API (device management, data streaming, webhooks) that turn raw sensor/meter data into billing and management workflows
What We Value
- Practical experience with the Tuya IoT Platform (Cloud Development, Tuya API, Device SDKs) or similar cloud-connected IoT ecosystems
- Familiarity with Wi-Fi/Zigbee/BLE smart devices, smart metering hardware, and MQTT-based data flows
- Comfort working across the hardware-software-cloud boundary
- Self-directed builders who enjoy figuring things out
- Interest in energy metering, submetering, or utility billing is a plus, not a requirement
What You’ll Work On
- Custom integrations built on the Tuya IoT Platform (device pairing, cloud APIs, webhooks)
- Metering and billing data pipelines fed by Tuya-connected devices
- Onboarding and configuration of Tuya-based IoT hardware
- Research into new Tuya-compatible hardware, protocol updates, and regulatory requirements for niche billing systems
